Their Love Story

Richard and Jacci's love story began with a spark of friendship ignited at a party Richard hosted during the first week of business school. Amidst the lively chatter, they met during a moment of solitude, and a connection formed. A moment of unexpected chaos—burnt popcorn (thanks to Jacci!)—ruined the party but led to laughter and a lasting connection that grew throughout their time at Kellogg. It was during this time that they learned although they were total opposites, their friendship just “worked” and so began their foundation of admiration and support of one another.

New job opportunities and a mutual affinity for NY led them each back to the city nearly eight years ago - Jacci in Morningside Heights and Richard close by in Harlem. Together, they explored the city's nightlife, dancing the night away at LaMarina, losing themselves in the music at Underbar and Las Lap, and enjoying unforgettable nights at Louie & Chans.

The arrival of COVID-19 in 2020 transformed New York City, stripping it of its usual energy and vibrancy. Faced with this new reality, Richard and Jacci found laughter, solace, and companionship in each other. As the distractions of city life faded, they created small communities with each other, explored the city's changing landscape, and discovered a deeper connection amidst the uncertainty. Daily walks along the Hudson River filled with candid conversations, masked gallery visits, and cozy shared meals, revealed a new layer of intimacy that caught them both by surprise.

Over the years, the true beauty of their relationship remains their unwavering understanding, support, and love for each other. They’ve seen each other through good times and bad, from afar and now up close. Looking forward, they are excited to build a lifetime of love together, rooted in their strong foundation.
